A food desert is an underserved community or area where there is limited access to a grocery store. In Cumberland County, 83% of the population is eligible for Federal Nutrition Assistance such as SNAP, WIC, free school meals, etc. Additionally, 16.7% of community members are considered food insecure at any time. Our mission with Delma's Pantry is to combat food insecurity within our community.
FACES makes your dollars go farther than any organization we know. FACES has no labor or administrative cost because it is 100% volunteer. FACES can buy food from Feed More at reduced prices, so every dollar goes 5 to 10 times further than in the grocery store.
FACES can buy, store, and deliver a pound of food to those in need for less than 25 cents. Your gift of $25 will deliver 500 pounds of food!
